How can we help MUNCH become more relevant for Generation Z and increase their presence at the museum?

Grade: A. Date: 04.02.2022

This is a project I did for MUNCH during my second year at Kristiania University, together with talented students from interior architecture.

Our task was to find out how we could help MUNCH become more relevant for Generation Z and increase their presence at the museum.

We used service design to do the research and the process of coming up with ideas, prototyping, and iterating. Interior architecture elements were brought into the project to develop the concept solution.

My contributions

I have mainly worked on the service design process of the project, with research, generating idéas, iteration, the visual components and storytelling of the presentation, problem statement, and the user journey.

Our solution

Our solution contains three parts. The first part is to create a pop-up store in a central location in Oslo in order to meet Gen Z where they are. The second part is a collaboration between MUNCH and a suitable designer to create MUNCH merch, that appeals to gen Z, and can be sold in the pop-up store. The third part knits the concept together. When buying merch in the pop-up store, you get a free ticket to MUNCH.
